Start of the Season
It is an exciting time here at the Vestavia Wrestling Club. A new season is starting and there are national tournaments currently going on around the country.
This past weekend up in Greensboro, NC, one of the top three toughest tournaments of the year took place. We took 6 VWC wrestlers up there and ended up winning 11 matches ! Everyone wrestled well, and it was a very good opener for us. Next weekend, we have another National tournament over in Big Horn, Colorado where three of our wrestlers will be competing. Go Rebels !
There is a lot of last minute organizing going on this week, so bear with us. I want everyone to know that there will be Liberty Park practice this year, which will begin one week from today. The calendar will be updated this week. Coach T has been a big help to us out there so for all you Liberty Park folks, please check it out.
And in closing, one last clarification on the practice times for the Winter Season:
Beginning TODAY at Crossroads Community Church.
Monday & Thursday
4:30- 6:00: ALL beginner wrestlers of all ages...beginner is less than 2 years experience.
ALL boys ages 9 and under
6:15 - 7:45: boys 10 and older with more that 2 years experience
Your son should wear shorts and a t-shirt. He should wear his wrestling shoes. Remember to bring a water bottle, marked with name. If you do not have wrestling shoes, wear sneakers.
